The Pikes Peak Young Composers mission is to encourage young people, K-12, to
compose music. The organization is dedicated to providing education,
professional evaluation, performance and other relevant opportunities for the
develoment, advancement and preservation of music composition. Founded by Len
Rhodes in 1995, PPYC is celebrating 15 years of success in what began in the
Colorado Pikes Peak region. PPYC now receives entries from around the USA and
enquiries from throughout the world. This organization supports the future of
new and serious music by preserving the craft of composition in written form.
PPYC is a body of professional composers and educators who are drawn together
to preserve, through music composition, the culture of its time by fostering
the next generation of audiences and composers of new music. Programs include
an annual competition, summer workshop, and continuing education.

One of my favorite musicians and the famous brother of one of my former
students! You simply must check out his site. Morgan has played with, and
produced the best there is in the contemporary and rock music world.

Winners at the past two Australian Live Music Awards, etypejazz is one of Australia's
leading contemporary, commercial jazz bands. Formed by Beth Lyon, their diverse
influences span from the great Nat King Cole, Bacharach and Porter to Sting,
Incognito and The Brand New Heavies, it's no wonder that etypejazz appeal to such a
broad audience. Their music is smooth jazz with elements of Blues, Soul, Pop, Lounge
and Latin music. A highly polished live act which has translated superbly onto their
catalogue of CDs. On a personal note, Beth Lyon was one of Len’s first piano students
in the UK. You MUST check these guys out.
