Charles Gounod so admired Bach as a composer that he wrote this beautiful melody as his "Ave Maria" - arranged by Len Rhodes for flute and piano.
Gounod utilised the C major Prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach from Book 1 of his 48 Preludes and Fugues as the piano accompaniment. Gounod did, in fact, add an extra bar of music - can you determine where this is?!!
